Seniors educational problems in old age homes

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na problematiku edukace nejstarší populační skupiny - seniorů, kteří musí být díky vyšší míře nesoběstačnosti, ať už fyzické nebo i psychické, umístěni v domovech pro seniory. V teoretické části bakalářská práce definuje, jaké formy péče o seniory jsou v České republice používány a jak jsou legislativně ukotveny. Neopomíjí také vymezení pojmu senior. Dále je zde definován pojem edukace, která má svá specifika, pokud je prováděna u seniorů umístěných v pobytovém zařízení sociální služeb. V rámci výzkumné části práce je realizováno dotazníkové šetření, ve kterém byli osloveni klienti tří domovů pro seniory v Moravskoslezském kraji. Výsledkem výzkumu je zjištění, že edukace v domovech pro seniory se díky zvýšené nesoběstačnosti zaměřuje především na kvalitní informovanost před nástupem do domova a v rámci pobytu. Další fáze edukace probíhá v rámci aktivizačních činností. Nejpoužívanějšími aktivitami jsou společenské a karetní hry, trénování paměti, vycházky do přírody, kulturní představení, návštěvy dětí, cestopisné přednášky, besedy a bohoslužby. Z výzkumu vyplývá, že jsou tyto aktivity seniory vstřícně přijímány.

Abstract:

The main focus of this bachelor thesis is on the problematics of the eldest population group education - education of seniors who must be placed in old people´s homes due to high level of inactivity either physical or psychological. In the theoretical part of this thesis there are defined the formes of care for the elderly used in the Czech Republic and how they are legally enshrined. Also the definition of senior is not neglected. Further, there is determined the term of education which has its own specifics in the case of performing with the elderly placed in the residential social care institutions. Within the research part of the thesis a questionnaire survey is implemented in which clients of three old people´s homes in the Moravian-Silesian Region were addressed. The result of the research is the finding that education in old people´s homes, due to increased inactivity, focuses mainly on high-quality information before the beginning of stay in the old people´s home and during the stay. The next phase of education takes place in the context of activation activities. Among the most frequently used activities there are social and card games, memory training, walks to the nature, cultural performances, children´s visits, travel lectures, discussions and church services. The research has also shown that these activities are responsively welcomed by the elderly.
