Model of thermal maturity of the Carboniferous sediments from the Lazy mine in the Upper Silezian Basin

Abstract:

V předložené práci je sledován stupeň prouhelnění v profilu vrtu Lazy, na základě měření světelné odraznosti vitrinitu. Pro regionální srovnání v rámci české části hornoslezské pánve bylo změřeno 10 srovnávacích vzorků z průzkumných vrtů dolu Staříč. Kvalita měření byla ověřena souběžnými analýzami prchavé hořlaviny a odraznosti vitrinitu v partnerském pracovišti RWTH Aachen. Naměřené výsledky jsou použity pro kalibraci modelu tepelné historie sestrojeného pomocí programu PetroMod 11 (fy Schlumberger). Z modelu tepelné historie vyplývá, že současný profil paleozoických souvrství je reliktem původního sedimentárního sledu vrstev, jehož mocnost byla na konci karbonu zhruba o 1800 m větší než dochovaná. Tyto nadložní jednotky byly pravděpodobně odstraněny erozí v průběhu permu až paleogénu před sedimentací spodního miocénu karpatské předhlubně.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis deals with thermal maturity trends with depth in exploration boreholes Lazy and Staříč in the Upper Silesian Basin using microscopic measurements of the vitrinite reflectance. As a regional analgue ten comparative samples were analyzed in the exploration boreholes of the Saříč Mine. The quality check was performed through parallel analysis of the volatile matter in the laboratory at the RWTH Technical University Aachen. The measured parameters were used as calibration data for the model of thermal history built by the PetroMod 11 software (fy Schlumberger). The model suggests that the present profile of the Paleozoic strata is a relict of an original sequence, which was by ca 1800 m thicker than the preserved one. The overburden units were probably removed by erosion during the Permian through Paleogen prior to deposition of the Carpathian Foredeep in the early Miocene.
