Social Work in the Care of Dying in Hospice and health care Facilities

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem sociální práce pro umírající v hospicích a zdravotnických zařízeních. Výstupem práce je vlastní návrh péče: doporučení pro úsek sociálních pracovnic zdravotnického zařízení. Původní záměr vypracovat návrhy pro oba typy poskytovatelů jsem v průběhu výzkumu změnila. Šetřením bylo zjištěno, ţe v hospicích je poskytování komplexní péče na profesionální úrovni, nejsou proto nutné ţádné změny. Oproti tomu hodnotím sociální práci ve zdravotnickém zařízení jako nedostačující. Teoretická část práce vysvětluje hlavní pojmy v oblasti smrti a umírání, představuje stav hospicové péče v České republice a popisuje úlohu sociálního pracovníka v péči o umírající. Analytickou část tvoří zhodnocení plnění náplně práce sociálních pracovnic a porovnání sociální práce v daných zařízeních. Data potřebná k výzkumu byla získána na základě podkladů od sociálních pracovníků a to formou volných rozhovorů a zjištěním současného stavu stáţí v jednotlivých zařízeních.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of social work for the people dying in hospices and health facilities. The output of this work is the presentation of the care for such people and the recommendation for the social workers in health facilities. The original intention of the work was to draw up a project for both types of health care providers. I changed that during the own research due to the fact that the care provided in the hospices is complex and at a very high standard. On the other hand I find the social work in the health facilities deficient. The theoretical part of the work explains the basic terms in the area of dying death and dying, presents the state of the hospice care in the Czech republic and describes the social worker´s role in the care for dying people. The analytical part consists of the evaluation of the social workers´ course of employment and of the comparison of the social work in the given facilities. The information needed for the research was based on the records given by the social workers. The records were gained especially through the dialogues with the workers and led to the findings of the contemporary state of the internship programmes in the particular facilities.
