Waymarking in the Czech Republic and Selected European Countries - Comparative Study

Abstract:

Abstrakt Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na srovnání turistického pěšího značení v České republice s ostatními zeměmi Evropy. Obsahuje informace o turistických organizacích, které aktivně značí turistické trasy, včetně Klubu českých turistů, který působí v České republice. Prezentuje argumenty, díky kterým by si české turistické značení zasloužilo být zapsáno do Seznamu nemateriálních statků tradiční lidové kultury České republiky, eventuálně do Seznamu nehmotného kulturního dědictví UNESCO. Cílem práce je zjistit, jaká evropská země má nejlepší turistické značení na světě. Pro obhájení tohoto názoru jsou systémy turistického značení různých evropských zemí porovnávány a zhodnocovány ve své logice, kvalitě, jednotnosti, jednoduchosti a systému. Práce končí přehledem variant, které umožňují zápis turistického značení na seznam nehmotného dědictví UNESCO jako světové kulturního dědictví.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the comparison of hiking and walking signs in the Czech Republic with other countries in Europe. It contains information about tourist organisations that actively mark hiking trails, including the Klub českých turistů, which operates in the Czech Republic. It presents the arguments that would help Czech waymarking to be included in the List of Intangible Assets of Traditional Folk Culture of the Czech Republic or in the UNESCO Intangible Heritage List. The aim of the thesis is to find out which European country has the best waymarking in the world. In order to achieve this result, the tourist signage systems of different European countries are compared and evaluated in their logic, quality, uniformity, simplicity and system. The bachelor thesis ends with the overview of the options that enable the inscription of tourist signage to the UNESCO Intangible Heritage List as a world heritage cultural heritage.
