On the spectral convergence of the Robin Laplacian operator

Abstract:

The spectral convergence of the Robin Laplacian is the central focus of this thesis, which aims to contribute to the understanding of the convergence properties of this important mathematical operator. We consider a Robin-Laplace operator on bounded domains. Problems related to the Robin Laplacian have been studied intensively in the literature. The purpose of the present work is twofold. Firstly, it explores the results and methodologies presented in the papers by Barseghyan et al., which established the convergence of the Neumann Laplacian on a domain with a hole for both non-magnetic and magnetic scenarios. This investigation provides a solid foundation for understanding the convergence behavior of the Laplacian under specific boundary conditions. The second objective of the thesis is to delve into the key theorems proposed by Barseghyan and Schneider, specifically pertaining to the convergence of the Robin Laplacian on a domain with a hole. The research focuses on examining these theorems in detail and aims to present a proof for the case of the constant Robin parameter, denoted as \gamma. We will first look at the basic properties of spaces that admit an inner product and also give some basic notions of spectral theory. Then, we will look at some well-known properties of the Spectrum of Closed and Adjoint operators. And thereafter, we give the known results of Neumann Laplacian by Barseghyan et al. We also give some known results of the Robin Laplacian on classical convergence. Finally, we will give proof of the convergence of the Robin Laplacian for the constant \gamma in the quadratic form that generates the Laplacian H_{\Omega}(\gamma).

Spektrální konvergence Robina Laplaciana je ústˇredním bodem této práce, která si klade za cíl pˇrispˇet k pochopení konvergenˇcních vlastností tohoto d°uležitého matematický operátor. Uvažujeme Robin Laplace°uv operátor na ohraniˇcených doménách. Problémy související s Robinem Laplaciánem byly v literatuˇre intenzivnˇe studovány. Úˇcel této práce je dvojí. Nejprve zkoumá výsledky a metodiky prezentované v dokumentech Barseghyan a kol., které konvergenci stanovily Neumanna Laplaciana na doménˇe s otvorem pro nemagnetické i magnetické scénáˇre. Toto šetˇrení poskytuje pevný základ pro pochopení konvergence chování laplacia za specifických okrajových podmínek. Druhým cílem práce je ponoˇrit se do klíˇcových teorém°u navržených Barseghyan a Schneider, konkrétnˇe týkající se konvergence Robina Laplaciana na doménˇe s dírou. Výzkum se zamˇeˇruje na podrobné zkoumání tˇechto teorém°u a klade si za cíl pˇredložit d°ukaz pro pˇrípad konstantního Robinova parametru, oznaˇceného jako \gamma. Nejprve se podíváme na základní vlastnosti prostor°u, které pˇripouštˇejí vnitˇrní produkt a také dávají nˇekteré základní pojmy spektrální teorie. Poté se podíváme na nˇekteré známé vlastnosti spektrum uzavˇrených a pˇridružených operátor°u. A poté poskytneme známé výsledky Neumann Laplacian od Barseghyan et al. Uvádíme také nˇekteré známé výsledky Robina Laplacián o klasické konvergenci. Nakonec uvedeme d°ukaz o konvergenci Robina Laplaciana pro konstantu \gamma v kvadratické formˇe, která generuje Laplaciovu H_{\Omega}(\gamma).
