Ve svém románu Vypravěč (El hablador, 1987) peruánský spisovatel Mario Vargas Llosa použil dva vypravěče: jeden představuje samotného autora vzpomínajícího na svá studentská léta, druhý, indiánský vypravěč, rozpráví mýty amazonského kmene Mačigengů.
