Past, Present and Future of the Sudetenland

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou krajiny Sudetika. Hlavním tématem je otázka, jak nakládat s krajinou Sudetika, která je významně ovlivněna svou pohnutou historií a specifickým socio-ekonomickým vývojem, a jak podpořit znovuvytvoření vztahu člověka k „jeho“ krajině. Práce řeší návrh prostorového a funkčního uspořádání krajiny směřující k její plné funkčnosti. Literární rešerše vysvětluje pojmy krajina, Sudety a další související pojmy a rozebírá historii území a plánovací procesy týkající se Sudet. Praktická část prezentuje charakteristiky, hodnoty i problémy modelového území okolí obce Hora svatého Václava a přináší zhodnocení současně platné územně plánovací dokumentace a návrh opatření týkajících se funkčního a prostorového uspořádání území na základě získaných poznatků z písemných pramenů i terénního průzkumu. Návrh zahrnuje změny a doporučení týkající se různých vrstev území, a to například obnovu historických cest, vkládání liniových dřevinných vegetačních prvků do velkých ploch, land art v zaniklých objektech, zachování původních odrůd ovocných stromů, obnovu venkovského charakteru návsí a další.Hlavní myšlenkou je umožnění trvale udržitelného rozvoje území formou ekologických opatření, důležitost uchování a obnovení paměti krajiny ve formě jejích historických krajinných struktur, respekt k charakteru místa, zachování venkovského charakteru vesnic, obnovení vztahu místního člověka ke krajině a seznámení návštěvníků s historií krajiny Sudetika.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with landscape of Sudetenland. The main issue is how to deal with the landscape of Sudetenland, which is significantly affected by its turbulent history and specific socio-economic development, and how to promote the re-creation of the relationship of man to „his" landscape. The thesis solves the design of the spatial and functional arrangement of the landscape towards its functionality.Literary research explains the meaning of the words Landscape, Sudetenland and other related words and deals with the history and planning processes of the Sudetenland. The practical part presents the characteristics, values and problems of the model territory of the village of Hora svatého Václava and provides an assessment of the planned changes in the spatial planning documentation and design of the measures involving the functional and spatial arrangement of the territory based on the acquired knowledge from the written sources and the field survey. The design includes changes and recommendations in several layers of the territory, for example the restoration of historic paths, the insertion of linear tree vegetation elements into large areas, land art installations in defunct buildings, the preservation of the original varieties of fruit trees, the restoration of the rural character of the sheds etc.The main idea is the importance of preserving and restoring the memory of the landscape in the form of its historical landscape structures, respecting the character of the place, preserving the rural character of the villages, restoring the relationship of the local person to the landscape and familiarizing visitors with the history of the Sudetenland.
