Central control of computer stations

Abstract:

The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to design and implement a tool for central management of workstations at the computer study rooms of Masaryk University managed by Institute of Computer Science. The main features of this tool are automated Wake-on-LAN, remote shutdown and monitoring of workstations. This tool is capable of switching to PC states which are designed for students‘ examination. The tool is easily extensible with other future features. The result of the thesis is an application which is implemented in Microsoft PowerShell. The application is designed to be integrated into the existing infrastructure.

Abstract:

Cieľom práce je navrhnúť a implementovať nástroj pre centrálne riadenie koncových počítačových staníc v študovniach MU a správe ÚVT. Základnou funkcionalitou nástroja je automatizované budenie, vypínanie a monitoring PC. Ďalej tento nástroj umožňuje prevod učebien do režimov určených k skúšaniu študentov a je jednoducho rozšíriteľný o ďalšie funkcie. Výsledkom práce je aplikácia implemetovaná v jazyku Microsoft Powershell. Aplikácia je navrhnutá a implementovaná tak, aby bola integrovateľná do stávajúcej infraštruktúry MU.
