Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je koncipována jako případová studie zaměřená na roli knihoven v Československé socialistické republice, a to na příkladu Městské knihovny v Přerově v mezidobí let 1945 a 1989. V úvodu práce je definována stručná historie knihovnictví v České republiky, a následně i samotné Městské knihovny v Přerově. Hlavním cílem práce je objasnit, jakým způsobem politické změny po 2. světové válce ovlivnily činnost Městské knihovny v Přerově, jelikož totalitní režim ovlivňoval chod celé společnosti. Text práce analyzuje poznatky získané studiem archivních materiálů, které jsou následně komparovány s výpověďmi pamětníků, čímž je poskytnut ucelený obraz o zkoumaném období, a to v konkrétní souvislosti s Městskou knihovnou v Přerově.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis is conceived as a case study focused on the role of libraries in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, specifically on the example of the Municipal Library in Prerov between 1945 and 1989. The introduction defines a brief history of the library. The main goal of the thesis is to clarify how political changes after World War II affected the activities of the Municipal Library in Prerov, because the totalitarian regime affected the operation of the whole society. The text of the thesis analyzes the findings obtained by studying archival materials, which are then compared with the testimonies of witnesses, which provides a comprehensive picture of the period under study, in specific context with the Municipal Library in Prerov.
