Supervision as a tool for the preventiv of burnout syndrome from the point of view of executive employees of asylum shelters

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem Supervize jako nástroj prevence syndromu vyhoření z pohledu vedoucích pracovníků azylových domů se zabývá problematikou prevence syndromu vyhoření a jejím hlavním nástrojem supervizí. Cílem diplomové práce je analyzování aktuálního stavu v problematice a poukázání na možnosti supervize a dalších nástrojů při řešení syndromu vyhoření a popsání specifik syndromu vyhoření u řídících pracovníků azylových domů. V první části práce je popsána aktuální situace v oblasti azylového bydlení, sociální práce jako rizikové povolání v kontextu syndromu vyhoření a hlavní možnosti prevence, které mohou být poskytnuty, a těmi jsou supervize a další vzdělávání sociálních pracovníků. V diplomové práci je také popsána práce sociálních pracovníků v azylových domech. Dále je práce soustředěna na výzkum provedený pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s vedoucími pracovníky azylových domů zřizovaných Charitou České republiky a azylových domů od jiných zřizovatelů poskytujících azylové bydlení a následnou komparací výsledků. Polostrukturované rozhovory jsou zaměřeny na pohled vedoucích pracovníků azylových domů na syndrom vyhoření, na supervizi a na to, jakým způsobem supervizi organizují a užívají. Cílem výzkumu je zjistit, zda vedoucí pracovníci v azylových domech vnímají supervizi jako kvalitní nástroj prevence syndromu vyhoření.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis Supervision as a Tool of Prevention of Burnout Syndrome from the Perspective of Leading Workers in Shelters deals with the problematics of burnout syndrome prevention and the main tool of the prevention - supervision. The aim of this thesis is analysing actual situation and to touch upon the possible effects of supervision and other methods of dealing with burnout syndrome of leading workers in shelters. Working in these centres has its specific character and it will be described in the thesis as well. The first part of the thesis comments on the profession of social workers; who are highly prone to suffer from burnout syndrome, and on the current situation of shelters as such. The thesis also outlines possible ways of preventing this problem such as supervision or further education of the social workers. Next, it gives a description of the work in a shelter from the position of a social worker. The second part of the thesis deals with the findings of the research which has been carried out. The first part of this research was based on semi-structured interviews with the leading workers in shelters instituted by The Czech Republic Charity and other organisations providing shelters. Secondly, the findings were accordingly evaluated and compared. All the interviewers given were focused on the problematics of burnout syndrome, supervision and the way they are used and organized in the practice. The main objective of this thesis is to find out whether the social workers in leading positions do view a supervision as a tool to prevent burnout syndrome.
