První část práce se zabývá historií vzniku GNU/Linux a současnými architekturami, které umožňují vytvořit grafické uživatelské prostředí. Následující část je zaměřena navlastní konfiguraci vzhledů a ovládání v distribuci Linux Mint 17 Qiana s prostředím pracovní plochy Cinnamon.Konfigurace je zaměřena na podobný vzhled a ovládání jako u operační-ho systému Microsoft Windows. The first part of this thesis deals with the history of GNU/Linux and current architectures, which enable to create a graphical user enviroment. The following section focuses on custom configurations for Linux Mint 17 Qiana with the Cinnamon desktop environ-ment.The configuration is focused on a similar look and control as the Microsoft Windows operating system.
