Changes in consumer behaviour due to the development of mobile technologies in tourism

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je prozkoumat vliv rozvoje mobilních technologií na chování spotřebitelů v cestovním ruchu. Konkrétně se zabývá tím, jak mobilní telefony změnily způsob, jakým turisté konzumují produkty a služby související s cestovním ruchem, a také tím, jakou roli hrají mobilní technologie v procesu rozhodování o cestování. První část této práce vysvětluje teoretická východiska, která se vztahují k problematice spotřebního chování a k oblasti M-turismu. Tyto poznatky jsou dále využity v praktické části, která je zpracována pomocí metody dotazníkového šetření a následného statistického vyhodnocení. Cílem tohoto průzkumu je zjistit, jak používání mobilních technologií ovlivňuje různé aspekty spotřebitelského chování, jako je rozhodování, nákupní chování a cestovní preference. Díky tomu práce poskytuje poznatky o nejvýznamnějších změnách ve spotřebitelském chování v důsledku rozvoje mobilních technologií v cestovním ruchu a také o tom, jak zásadní jsou mobilní technologie pro turisty během jejich cestování.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to investigate the impact of mobile technology development on consumer behaviour in the tourism industry. Specifically, it looks at how mobile phones have changed the way tourists consume tourism-related products and services, as well as the role mobile technology plays in the travel decision-making process. The first part of this thesis explains the theoretical background that relates to the issue of consumption behaviour and the field of M-Tourism. These findings are further exploited in the practical part, which is developed using a questionnaire survey method and subsequent statistical evaluation. This survey aims to find out how the use of mobile technology affects different aspects of consumer behaviour such as decision making, purchasing behaviour and travel preferences. As a result, the thesis provides insights into the most significant changes in consumer behaviour due to the development of mobile technology in tourism, as well as how essential mobile technology is for tourists during their travel.
