The personality of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the Milos Forman's film Amadeus

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá osobností Wolfganga Amadea Mozarta a jejím zpracováním ve filmu Miloše Formana Amadeus. V teoretické části se čtenáři seznámí s životem a dílem W. A. Mozarta a Antonia Salieriho, a také s jejich vzájemnými vztahy na Vídeňském dvoře. Dále se seznámí s literaturou, která je o Mozartovi dostupná, a také s tím, jak film Amadeus vzniknul. V praktické části se čtenář na základě analýzy filmu dozví, jaké jsou ve filmu zásadní historické nepřesnosti a jakým způsobem by se mělo s filmem ve výuce na základních a středních školách pracovat. Součástí práce je také dotazník, určený učitelům hudební výchovy, kteří mají s využitím filmu ve výuce zkušenosti.

Abstract:

The MA thesis deals with a personality of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and its description in a Miloš Forman's movie Amadeus. In the teoretical part you become familiar with a life and work of W. A. Mozart and Antonio Salieri and with interrelations between them on a Viennese royal court as well. Then you become familiar with the available literature about W. A. Mozart and also with creation of the movie Amadeus. In the practical part you learn - based on the movie analysis - what are the main historical inaccuracies there and how you should treat the movie during classes in basic and high schools. The thesis includes a questionnaire created for teachers of music education, who have experiences with using movies during classes.
