The occurence and prevalence of the genus Toxocara arround sandpits and playgrounds in the area of Mladá Boleslav.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce prezentuje výsledky průzkumu, který probíhal v letech 2013 a 2014 na dětských hřištích a pískovištích na území města Mladá Boleslav, která se nachází ve Středočeském kraji. Průzkum byl zaměřen na vajíčka škrkavek rodu Toxocara. Při zkoumání výskytu vajíček v písku byla v laboratoři použita flotační metoda. Sběr písku byl prováděn z veřejně dostupných pískovišť. Výsledky jsem se zabývala v samostatné kapitole této práce, kde byla počítána roční prevalence. Z důvodu rozsahu práce byly výsledky porovnány v závislosti na ročních obdobích. V roce 2013 bylo vyšetřeno 264 vzorků, z nichž bylo pozitivních 41 vzorků, prevalence tedy byla 15,5 %. V roce 2014 bylo vyšetřeno 248 vzorků, z nichž bylo pozitivních 38 s prevalencí 13,7 %. Celkem bylo vyšetřeno 512 vzorků s prevalencí 14,6 %. Po vyhodnocení jsem došla k závěru, že se hypotézy formulované v úvodu práce potvrdily z poloviny. Hypotézy jsou formulovány v kapitole Praktická část a následně diskutovány v kapitole Diskuze.

Abstract:

The thesis presents results of a survey conducted in 2013 and 2014 at children playgrounds and sandpits in the town of Mladá Boleslav which is located in the Central Bohemia Region. The survey focused on eggs of the roundworm of Toxocara species. For the examining of the presence of eggs in the sand the flotation method was used in the laboratory. The sand was collected from publicly available sandpits. The results are dealt with in a separate chapter of this thesis, where the annual prevalence was calculated. Due to the extent of the thesis, the result were analysed according to the season. In 2013 264 samples were examined, of which 41 samples we positive, i.e. the prevalence was 15.5 %. In 2014 248 samples were examined, of which 38 were positive with the prevalence of 13.7 %. A total of 512 samples were examined with the 14.6 % prevalence. After the evaluation I concluded that a half of the hypotheses expressed in the introduction of the thesis was confirmed. The hypotheses are defined in chapter Practical part and discussed in chapter Discussion.
