Old Czech names of containers, their origin and motivation for their naming
Abstract:
Tématem práce je etymologický výklad staročeských názvů nádob a jejich srovnání s novou češtinou. Kromě původu slov jsme se zabývali i jejich sémantickým vývojem. Zjistili jsme, že velká část názvů nádob pochází již z praslovanského období, další byly přejímány z němčiny a latiny.
Abstract:
The topic of this thesis is the etymological analysis of the old Czech names of containers and their comparison with new Czech. Besides the origin of containers, we dealt with their semantic development. We found lots of the names of containers had come from the Proto-Slavic period, other names had been taken up from German and Latin.
