Using VacuShape in Obesity Therapy and in Rehabilitation Care

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se orientuje na problematiku nadváhy a obezity. Je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Jednotlivé kapitoly teoretické části se zabývají výskytem a příčinami vzniku obezity, dále vyšetřovacími metodami a léčbou. V závěru teoretické části jsou shrnuty informace o přístroji VacuShape a zátěžových testech. Praktická část obsahuje stanovené cíle a hypotézy diplomové práce, dále popsanou metodiku a interpretaci výsledků. Zkoumaný soubor tvořil 29 pokusných osob. Cvičení ve VacuShapu absolvovaly pokusné osoby 3 krát týdně po dobu 30 minut v celkovém rozsahu třiceti cvičení. Vstupní a výstupní vyšetření zahrnovalo anamnestický dotazník, antropometrické vyšetření, vyšetření metodou Duální rentgenové absorpciometrie a Bioelektrické impedance a zátěžové vyšetření na bicyklovém ergometru. Cílem práce bylo ověřit účinnost podtlaku na redukci hmotnosti při cvičení na přístroji VacuShape a jeho využití v rehabilitační péči.

Abstract:

The objective of this diploma thesis is to investigate problems of overweight and obesity. The study is divided into theoretical and practical part. Chapters of the theoretical part analyse incidence and origins of obesity, and subsequently focuses on examinational methods and treatment. By the end of the theoretical part we can find brief information about VacuShape device and stress tests. The practical part outlines goals and hypothesis of the diploma thesis; furthermore it demonstrates the methodology described and also interprets the results of the research. The investigation was conducted on twenty nine subjects. All twenty nine experimental individuals participated in the VacuSphape exercises three times a week for thirty minutes and took part in thirty exercises each in total. Both, the entrance and final examination included filling of anamnesis questionnaire, anthropometrical examination using Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry Examination, Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis and stress test on a bicycle ergometery. The purpose of this research was verifying the efficiency of an under pressure on the weight reduction using the VacuShape device, and its application in rehabilitation care.
