Colors in Idiomatic Expressions
Abstract:
Tato práce se zaměřuje na idiomy s barvami "black" a "white" (v anglické verzi idiomů). Cílem práce je zjistit do jaké míry anglické idiomy s barvou korespondují s idiomy českými a najít u idiomů vlastnosti, nálady a pocity, které na dané barvě závisí, a které jsou pro danou barvu v idiomech obvyklé.
Abstract:
The thesis deals with idioms with "black" and "white" (in the English version of the idioms). The aim of the thesis is to find out to what extent English color idioms correspond to their Czech equivalents and to find qualities, emotions and mood that depend on the color and that are typical of the color in idioms.
