Women's somatic and psychic symptomes during climacterium and menopause in connection with using of a hormonal substitution therapy

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit, zda existují rozdíly v psychosomatických příznacích u žen v období klimakteria, které užívají hormonální substituční terapii a u žen, které hormonální substituční terapii neužívají. Dílčí cíle byly zaměřeny na tělesnou hmotnost a jednotlivé skupiny příznaků a to na psychické, somatické, vazomotorické a sexuální. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 213 respondentek. Šetření bylo realizováno v gynekologických ambulancích, urogynekologickém centru, na předoperačních a pooperačních odděleních a oddělení konzervativní gynekologie Ústavu pro péči o matku a dítě v Praze-Podolí. Pro měření míry klimakterických obtíží byla použita česká verze standardizovaného dotazníku Green Climacteric Scale spolu s otázkami obsahující demografické údaje. Bylo zjištěno, že hormonální substituční terapie má velký vliv na psychosomatické příznaky. Z šetření jasně vyplynulo, že existuje rozdíl ve všech doménách ze standardizovaného dotazníku. Z výzkumu byla potvrzena pouze jedna hypotéza a to, že hormonální substituční terapie nemá vliv na tělesnou hmotnost a není rozdíl v body mass indexu u žen s léčbou a bez léčby

Abstract:

The aim of the master thesis was to determine if there are differences in psychosomatic symptoms between women in climacterium which are using hormonal substitution therapy and women which are not. Partial aims were focused on body weight and single groups of symptoms, namely psychic, somatic, vasomotoric and sexual. Research group consists of 213 women; investigation was realized in gynaecological ambulances, urogynecologic center, on preoperative and postoperative department and department of conservative gynaecology of Institute for mother and child care in Prague. The Czech version of standardized Green Climacteric Scale questionnaire with demographic questions was used for measuring the level of climacteric difficulties. It was found that hormonal substitution therapy is influencing psychosomatic symptoms. The research clearly shows that there is a difference in all parts of standardized questionnaire and only one hypothesis was confirmed ? hormonal substitution therapy does not influence body mass and there is no difference in body mass index between woman with and without therapy.
