Abstract:

Většina lidí se ve svém životě velmi dychtivě snaží dosáhnout něčeho významného. Cesta k dosažení cílů poté velmi často vede skrze úspěšnou kariéru. Lidé jsou připraveni věnovat roky (mnohdy i desetiletí) studiu a práci, aby získali zaměstnání svých snů a na pracovním trhu byli schopni prodat svůj skutečný potenciál. Avšak stejně jako se mění doba samotná, mění se také poptávka po kvalitních zaměstnancích a kritéria jejich výběru. Cílem této práce je prozkoumat to, co z člověka dělá dobrého zaměstnance v oblasti managementu cestovního ruchu a pohostinství (z pohledu zaměstnavatele) a také identifikace kritérií, která by měla být splněna pro získání lepší práce a jejího úspěšného osvojení z hlediska potenciálního zaměstnance. Za tímto účelem bylo použito velké množství metod a činností, zahrnujících sekundární výzkum, kvantitativní a kvalitativní analýzy (ve formě výzkumů a hloubkových rozhovorů) a další. K poznatkům, které již byly zjištěny odborníky v oboru managmentu pohostinství, přináší můj výzkum některé důležité informace a zjištění, které usnadňují a prohlubují pochopení interních procesů náboru osob, efektivity práce a klíčových elementů k dosažení úspěchu.

Abstract:

Majority of the people are extremely eager to achieve significant things in their lives. Very often the path to such achievements lies through a successful career. People are ready to dedicate years (and even decades) of studying and working to get the job of their dreams and realise their true potential on the workplace. However, times change and with it selection criteria and demands for a good employee change as well. The aim of this thesis is to explore what makes a person a good worker in the area of tourism and hospitality management (from the employers’ point of view), as well as identifying the criteria which should be met to get a better job and cope easier with it from the perspective of the potential employee. For this purpose, several methods and activities are utilised, including secondary research, quantitative and qualitative analysis (in the form of the surveys and in-depth interviews) and others. In addition to previous findings of influential people in the area of hospitality management, my research brings some significant discoveries that improve and deepen the understanding of internal processes of recruiting, effective working and key elements for achieving success.
