The Endogenous Money Theory and its Evidence in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce prezentuje teorie zabývající se endogenní povahou peněz. V úvodu práce jsou popsány teoretické podklady, určující základní definice, potřebné pro analýzu peněžní povahy. Samotná endogenní teorie je poté prozkoumána v historickém vývoji, který probíhá od 19. století po současnost, kdy je kladen důraz na dva současné směry zastupující teorii endogenity peněz. Prvním z nich je představena škola peněžního oběhu a její teoretické východiska a koncepty. Důkladněji však je zde zkoumána rozvinutější postkeynesiánská teorie peněz. Ta je chronologicky rozčleněna tak, aby byl zřetelně popsán její vývoj, který vyústil ve dva odlišné proudy, v teorii absolutní endogenity peněz a institucionálně odlišnou relativní teorii endogenity peněz. Koncepty těchto teorií slouží v poslední části pro stanovení hypotéz v rámci ekonometrického modelu, který je vytvořen na datech České republiky z let 1996 - 2011.

Abstract:

Submitted thesis presents theory dealing with endogenous nature of money. In the introduction of work are described theoretical backgrounds, determining elemental definitions, required for analysis of money nature. The endogenous theory is outlined in historical development, which reaches from 19th century to the present, when it puts emphasis to the two present schools of thought. The former is introduced monetary circuit theory and its theoretical foundations and concepts. The latter is rigorously researched advanced postkeynesian money theory. This theory is chronologically segmented to distinctly describe historical development that results in two different views, in horizontalist’s theory and institutional different structuralist´s theory. Concepts of those theories serve in the last section for hypothesis setting in frame of econometrical model, which is carved on statistical data of the Czech Republic during the years 1996 – 2011.
