Design of project management in an organization

Abstract:

The subject of this diploma thesis is to create a comprehensive system for project management tailored to a specific small company engaged in software development. The system encompasses both its procedural and competency aspects. The theoretical part of the thesis examines the existing findings in the field of project management, with a focus on its specifics in small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as its procedural and competency aspects. Additionally, it delves into both agile and traditional approaches to software development. Building upon the acquired findings and knowledge, the second part of the thesis consists of successive analyses and proposals, culminating in the outputs of the thesis. These outputs represent procedural frameworks for agile and traditional project management, along with a specific competency model for a project manager within the company.

Abstract:

Predmetom tejto diplomovej práce je pre konkrétny malý podnik zaoberajúci sa softvérovým vývojom vytvoriť komplexný systém pre projektový management, ktorého obsahom je jeho procesné aj kompetenčné hľadisko. Teoretická časť práce sa zaoberá preskúmaním doterajších zistení v oblastí projektového managementu, jeho špecifikám v malých a stredných podnikoch a jeho procesnému aj kompetenčnému aspektu. V neposlednom rade sa zaoberá aj agilným a tradičným prístupom ku softvérovému vývoju. Na báze nadobudnutých zistení a vedomostí stojí druhá časť práce, ktorá je tvorená na seba nadväzujúcimi analýzou a návrhom, ktoré vyúsťujú do výstupov práce. Tie predstavujú procesné rámce pre agilný a tradičný projektový management, a špecifický kompetenčný model projektového manažéra v podniku.
