The rehabilitation process of an adult patient following ischemic stroke from the acute phase to the return to autonomy: clinical case

Abstract:

This thesis' purpose is to analyse and explore a neurological disease such as the stroke. That, in fact, today represent the third cause of death, following heart attack and cancer. More specifically it will be treated a clinical case of an adult woman, who already has comorbidities, affected by an ischemic stroke. The thesis' goal is to analyse the anatomical and physiological description of the nervous system and, in fact, the disease on its own. Causes will be researched starting from the stroke's symptoms to the medical, pharmacological, instrumental and physiotherapy therapies that can be used due to new scientific evidences. In the end, the patient's rehabilitation will be described, into the different phases of the disease: starting from the acute phase of the disease to the return to normal life's activities.

Abstract:

La tesi in questione ha l'obiettivo di analizzare ed approfondire una patologia neurologica quale l'ictus. Ad oggi, essa rappresenta la terza causa di morte in tutto il mondo dopo l'infarto del miocardio e i tumori. Nello specifico sar? trattato un caso clinico di una paziente adulta con gi? delle comorbilit? a carico colpita da stroke ischemico. L'obiettivo dell'elaborato sar? mirato ad evidenziare in maniera analitica la descrizione anatomica e fisiologica del sistema nervoso, nonché della patologia stessa, in modo tale da ricercare le cause che portano alla manifestazione dell'ictus e le principali terapie mediche, farmacologiche, strumentali e fisioterapiche che si possono adottare sulla base delle nuove evidenze scientifiche. In conclusione sar? descritto l'iter riabilitativo della paziente nelle varie fasi della patologia: dalla fase acuta, al recupero delle azioni della vita quotidiana.
