Abstract:

Odmítnutí v umění: Případové studie vymanění se ze světa umění a jejich kontext se zabývá dílem Tehchinga Hsieha a Lee Lozano. Na jejich příkladech analyzuje akty vymanění se ze světa umění, které byly tímto autorem a autorkou označeny jako umělecké dílo. Analýza těchto děl mapuje jak osobní a umělecký kontext vzniku díla, tak jejich umělecko-historický kontext.Výsledky této analýzy potom ústí v komparaci obou tvůrčích přístupů a východisek a následně tuto komparaci dává do vztahu k teoretickému rámci vymezeném především institucionální teorií umění a teorií konce umění. Práce skrze analýzu vybraných děl ukazuje jejich hraniční charakter a to z hlediska dematerializace a subjektivizace umění a navrhuje hypotetický model těchto děl jako bodů zlomu ve vztahu k teorii konce umění. Skrze tuto hypotézu se potom problematizuje pojem instituce umění a světa umění a vede k úvahám o jejich nových možných rozšířených interpretacích. Výsledek práce je tak návrh vybraných děl jako určitých bodů zlomu pro možnost změny chápání pojmu instituce umění, jeho hranic a relevanci těchto děl pro umění současné.

Abstract:

Refusal in Art: Case studies of a drop-out from the art world and their context adresses the work of Tehching Hsieh and Lee Lozano. On their examples an act of drop-out from the art world is being analyzed as an art piece, thus described by their authors. The analysis maps personal and artistic context of its development and also their art-historian context. Results of this analysis then lead to a comparison of both artistic approaches and their foundations and subsequently puts this comparison to a relation to theoretical framework here delimited by the institutional theory of art and the theory of the end of an art. The work also shows a radical character of the art pieces from the point of a dematerialization and a subjectivization of art and proposes a hypotetical model of these pieces as points of rupture in a relation to a theory of the end of art. Through this hypothesis the concept of institution of art and the art world is being problematized and thus leads to its new possible widened interpretations. The result of the work is thus a proposal of the chosen art pieces as crucial for a possibility to change an understanding of the term of an art institution, its boundaries and a relevance for the contemporary art in presence.
