Economic Importance of Automotive: Comparison of Selected EU Countries

Abstract:

Automobilový průmysl patří mezi nejvýznamnější průmyslová odvětví Evropské unie. Pro mnoho evropských ekonomik se jedná o největší průmyslový sektor v zemi ať už z hlediska zaměstnanosti nebo tvorby na HDP. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena na dvě části. V teoretické části jsou představeny klasifikace automobilového průmyslu z pohledu pěti různých organizací. Podle klasifikací představených v teoretické části se bude práce řídit v části praktické. V praktické části je následně rozebrán automobilový průmysl tří vybraných zemí, konkrétně České republiky, Německa a Francie. Všechny tři země patří mezi nejvýznamnější výrobce automobilů v EU. Druhá část praktické části je věnována kauze Dieselgate, kde je identifikován dopad na koncern Volkswagen Group z hlediska prodejnosti automobilů v Evropě a USA.

Abstract:

The automotive industry is one of the most important industry sector in the European Union. For many European economies is the largest industrial sector in the country, whether in terms of employment or GDP. The Bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part introduces the classification of the automotive industry from the perspective of five different organizations. According to the classifications introduced in the theoretical part, the work will be handled in the practical part. In the practical part is analyzed the automobile industry of three selected countries, namely the Czech Republic, Germany and France. All three countries are among the most important car manufacturers in the EU. The second part of the practical part is dedicated to the Dieselgate case where is identified the impact on the Volkswagen Group in terms of car sales in Europe and the US.
