Encryption and number theory

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá šifrováním a matematickými teoriemi s tím spojenými. Cílem je nastínit, jaké metody šifrování se používají k ochraně dat v současnosti, ale i jaké se používaly v minulosti. V práci lze nalézt několik tisíc let staré šifry v podobě písma až po šifry vzniklé díky informačním technologiím. Jedna z kapitol je zaměřena na šifrovací metoru RSA, která je považována za jednu z nejbezpečnějších a nejsložitějších metod, přičemž je využívána k ochraně dat v bankách, ale i v armádě, kdy je používán veřejný RSA klíč o délce 1024 bitů.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with encryption and mathematical theories, related with encryption. The aim of the thesis is to outline which encryption methods are currently used for data protection and what methods were used in the past. Several thousand years old ciphers in the form of scripts and ciphers formed by information technologies can be found in this study. One of the chapters is dealing with RSA encryption method, that is considered by one of the safest and the most complex method, which is used by banks and military for the data protection. For example banks uses public RSA key length of 1024 bits.
