Abstract:

Diplomová práce analyzuje španělskou korespondenci rakouského šlechtice Adama z Ditrichštejna (1527-1590), která slouží jako doklad jeho politických, společenských a rodinných kontaktů s Pyrenejským poloostrovem. Tyto kontakty vznikly během jeho opakovaných pobytů u španělského dvora, zvláště během jeho diplomatické mise v letech 1563-1573. Ditrichštejnovy španělské dopisy tak reprezentují také spojení mezi španělskou a rakouskou větví habsburské dynastie ve druhé polovině 16. století a přispívají k objasnění Ditrichštejnova úspěchu a následného sociálního vzestupu ve službách habsburského rodu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis analyzes the spanish correspondence of an Austrian noble Adam Dietrichstein (1527-1590), which serve like a proof of his political, social and family contacts with the Iberian Peninsula. These contacts were estabilished during his repeated stays on the Spanish court, especially during his diplomatical mission between 1563 and 1573. In this way, Dietrichstein's spanish letters also represent the links between the Spanish and the Austrian branch of the Habsburg dynasty in the second half of the 16th century and contribute to the explanation of Dietrichstein's success and following social rise in the service of the Habsburg house.
