Comparison of natural breeding and insemination of cattle on a selected farm

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce popisuje potřebné poznatky k reprodukci skotu, jakožto anatomii pohlavních orgánů, veškeré fungování říje samic a v neposlední řadě zahrnuje informace o inseminaci a přirozené plemenitbě společně s jejich výhodami a nevýhodami. Cílem této práce bylo zhodnotit reprodukci v chovu jalovic červenostrakatého skotu, jak inseminaci, tak přirozenou plemenitbu a zjistit, která z obou variant pro sledovaný podnik je výhodnější. Praktická část probíhala od ledna do prosince roku 2021 v ZD Stařeč nedaleko Třebíče na Vysočině. Při inseminaci 35 kusů byla 68,6 % úspěšnost a v přirozené plemenitbě z celkem zapuštěných 33 ks 57,22 %. Ze získaných dat byla úspěšnost inseminace následně porovnána s následujícími podniky: ZD Dešov a s Agrodružstvem Miroslav. Z provedeného sledování a zjištění hodnot byl vyvozen pro podnik závěr, že je v jeho podmínkách vhodnější volbou umělá inseminace, která byla o více jak 10 % úspěšnější než přirozená plemenitba.

Abstract:

The bachellor thesis describes basic findings regarding cattle reproduction, anatomy of bovine reproductive tract, all principles of cow oestrus, and last but not least the final part includes information on insemination and natural breeding anlong with their benefits and disadvantages. The goal of this work was to evaluate reproduction in heifers of Czech fleckvieh cattle, from both the insemination and natural-breeding point of view and to find out which of the variants is more convenient for the analysed breeding facility. The practical section of this thesis took place at ZD Stařeč from January to December of year 2021. Here, the success rates reached 68,6% for 36 head of inseminated heifers and 57,22% for 33 heifers in natural service. The obtained success rates of insemination were subsequently compared with the following enterprises: ZD Dešov and Agribusiness Miroslav. From the monitoring carried out and the values found, ut was concluded that artificial insemination was a more appropriate choice in the compny´s conditins and was more than 10 % more successful than natural breeding.
