Market Analysis of a Specific Tourism Segment in Prague

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je získat základní přehled o specifických rysech, potřebách a požadavcích na turistickou destinaci segmentu gayů a leseb a tyto požadavky následně porovnat s nabídkou Prahy a zjistit, zdali je tento segment vhodným segmentem pro cestovní ruch v Praze. Práce je rozdělena do 5 kapitol, z nichž první se na teoretické úrovni věnuje segmentaci trhu cestovního ruchu a trendům, které segmentaci ovlivňují. Následná kapitola se již věnuje gay turismu a charakteristice segmentu gayů a leseb. Třetí kapitola detailně analyzuje zařízení cestovního ruchu poskytující služby vybranému segmentu v Praze a zabývá se propagací Prahy směřující ke gayům a lesbám. V rámci této práce bylo provedeno dotazníkové šetření, které mělo za cíl potvrdit pravdivost odlišností vybraného segmentu a zjistit jejich názor na Prahu. Analýze tohoto šetření je věnována čtvrtá kapitola. V poslední kapitole je aplikována teorie segmentace do praxe. Autor zde také uvádí své návrh jak přimět tento segment k návětěvě Prahy.

Abstract:

The aims of this thesis are to gain a basic overview of the specific characteristics, demands on tourist destination and needs of the segment of lesbians and gays; to compare these demands with the supply of Prague; and to find out whether the segment of gays and lesbians is suitable for tourism in Prague or not. The thesis is divided into five parts. First chapter deals with the segmentation of tourism and the trends in this industry which influences the segmentation. The following chapter characterizes gay tourism and segment of gays and lesbians as a segment of tourism. The third chapter analyse facilities of tourism which provides gays and lesbians with service, and deals with how Prague addresses this segment of tourism. A questionnaire survey, which was carried out for this bachelor's thesis, is analysed in the fourth chapter. The last part of the bachelor's thesis is considered with application of the theory of segmentation to gays and lesbians. A significant part of this chapter deals with the marketing mix and proposals how to improve marketing communication with gays and lesbians.
