Cílem práce je zjistit, do jaké míry lze knihu Harry Potter a Tajemná komnata považovat za mytologický příběh. Práce nejdříve seznamuje čtenáře s historií studia mýtů a s teorií toho, jak lidská mysl konstruuje významy a jak jsou tyto významy prostřednictvím mýtů vyjadřovány. The aim of the thesis is to discover to what extent can J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets be considered a mythological story. After introducing a theoretical background of the study of myths and how people’s minds construct meaning and how myths convey those meanings, the thesis analyses the novel’s archetypal figures and compares the story structure to Campbell’s universal archetypal …more
