Mário de Andrade’s Macunaíma: Brazilian identity formation
Abstract:
The aim of this bachelor study is to follow the formation of Brazilian identity based on the work of Macunaíma by Mário de Andrade. Through the historical context and analysis of the work we follow the evolution and changes in the identity of the Brazilian nation. We discuss the phenomena that shaped the Brazilian identity, such as anthropophagy, race mixing and slavery.
Abstract:
Cieľom bakalárskej práce je sledovať formovanie brazílskej identity na základe diela Macunaíma od Mária de Andrade. Pomocou historického kontextu a analýzy diela sledujeme vývoj a zmeny identity brazílskeho národa. Rozoberáme javy, ktoré formovali brazílsku identitu ako sú napríklad antropofagia, miešanie rás a otroctvo.
