Acqusition metadata and spatial data for the digital company - a virtual reality for small and medium-sized enterprises

Abstract:

Tato disertační práce vychází se současných požadavků na rychlost a efektivitu procesů z pohledu digitálního podniku a facility managementu. Cílem bylo vytvořit nástroje pro sběr, správu a distribuci prostorových informací a připojených metadat. Literární rešerše se v úvodu se zaměřila na současné existující systémy. V souladu s ustálenou praxí je informační zajištění podniku pro účely této práce členěno na proces získávání a proces správy dat v na sebe navazujících postupech. Navržené kroky ukazují, jak integrovat metadata a prostor se snahou odstranit slabá místa stávajících řešení. Experimentální a vývojový program byl rozdělen do čtyř základních procesů. Získání prostorových dat, identifikace a správa metadat, propojení metadat a prostorových informací a optimalizace dat pro distribuci. Pro získání prostorových dat je vyvinuto experimentální zařízení - 3D skener umožňující základní mapování a tvorbu objektů s navazujícím procesem zpracování prostorových dat. Paralelně je řešena identifikace a správa metadat ve struktuře umožňující vysoký stupeň integrace podnikových informačních systémů. Tyto dva procesy jsou propojeny ve třetí části pomocí integračního mostu - formátu VRML umožňujícího procházení virtuálních (skenovaných) světů a napojení na systém metat. Čtvrtá část se zabývá rozkladem virtuální scény na jednotlivé objekty, tvorbou knihoven objektů a LOD optimalizací umožňující snížit objem datových toků při distribuci koncovým uživatelům. Všechny navržené procesy a technologie jsou nezávislé na konkrétním SW, využívají převážně otevřené, dostupné technologie a umožňují tak nasazení v malých a středních podnicích bez vytváření závislosti na dodavatelích HW a SW.

Abstract:

This thesis is based on the current requirements for speed and efficiency of processes, from the point of view of digital enterprises and facility management. The aim was to create tools for managing the capture and distribution of spatial information and associated metadata. The literature review at the beginning of the thesis focuses on the currently existing systems. The process of acquiring and managing data is divided into individual steps in accordance with the standard practice. The proposed steps demonstrate how to integrate metadata and spatial information to correct the weak points of current solutions. The experimental and development program was divided into four basic steps: capturing spatial data, metadata identification and management, linking metadata and spatial information and reduction of spatial data to facilitate communication. An experimental device was developed to obtain the spatial data - a 3D scanner that allows basic mapping and data representation of objects followed by processing the spatial data. A structure to identify and manage metadata is proposed that supports a high degree of integration of enterprise information systems. These two processes are linked in the third part using the integration bridge ? VRML format enables users to browse the virtual (scanned), world system and connect to the metadata structure. The fourth part deals with the decomposition of the virtual scene into individual objects, creation of libraries of objects and with optimized LOD reduction in the distribution of data to end users. All the proposed processes and technologies are independent of specific software products and use widely available equipment, thus making their use in small and medium enterprises feasible and avoiding vendor lock-in.
