Numerical Solution of Algebraic Equations

Abstract:

Práce pojednává o problematice hledání kořenů rovnice P(z)=0, kde P(z) je polynom, pomocí metod numerické matematiky. Pozornost je soustředěna především na ty metody, které dokáží nalézt kořeny polynomu nejen v reálném oboru, ale též v oboru komplexním. Popsány jsou nejprve numerické metody které konvergují vždy. Následně je pak provedena charakterizace metod, které konvergují obecně rychleji než předchozí metody, avšak je nutná počáteční aproximace blízko ke kořenu (jinak mohou divergovat). Spojení obou skupin metod pak vyústí v možnosti kombinovaných numerických modelů. Avšak vzhledem k tomu, že problém řešení rovnice P(z)=0 nemůže být správně postižen, aniž známe nějaké věty o poloze kořenů polynomů, je provedena v práci i základní specifikace a lokalizace polohy kořenů. Součástí prakticky všech kapitol jsou příklady demonstrující popsanou problematiku, často doplněné názorným obrázkem. Celý text je pojat v duchu stručného a praktického studijního materiálu využitelného nejen studenty kombinovaného studia, ale obecně všemi zájemci o problematiku numerické matematiky.

Abstract:

This work deals with the roots finding problems of the equation P(z)=0, where P(z) is a polynomial, using the methods of numerical mathematics. Attention is focused mainly on the methods that can find the polynomial roots not only in the set of real numbers, but also in the set of complex numbers. Always convergent numerical methods is described at first. A characterization of faster convergent methods requiring a good initial approximation (otherwise may diverge) is demonstrated thereinafter. The both methods connection lead to combined numerical models. However, the problem of solving the equation P(z)=0 can be to get done successfully when we known theorems of polynomial roots location, hence this work the basic specifications and location of the roots position solve too. Examples demonstrating described problems are itemized in most of chapters, often accompanied by vivid picture. All text is conceived as the concise and practical study material usable not only students of combined form, but generally all interested persons in the problems of numerical mathematics.
