Use of Feline Therapy in People with Disabilities

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to summarize the theoretical knowledge of feline therapy for persons with disabilities, focusing on the age group of school children and seniors. The research objective of this work is to identify the impact feline therapy on physical and mental condition of clients. The first chapter is devoted to comprehensive rehabilitation of clients with disabilities. Defines the terms disability and comprehensive rehabilitation and discusses the specifics of comprehensive rehabilitation for children and seniors. The second chapter deals with the types, methods and forms of animal assisted therapy, basic information about feline therapy and possibilities of using this type of therapy in practice. The third chapter contains the empirical part of the work. Through the case study analysis, research questions are answered and the objective of this research work is fulfilled. The chapter concludes with the recommendations for the practice.

Abstract:

Cieľom bakalárskej práce je zhrnúť teoretické poznatky z oblasti felinoterapie u osôb so zdravotným postihnutím, so zameraním na vekovú skupinu detí školského veku a seniorov. Výskumný cieľ práce je zistiť vplyv felinoterapie na fyzický a psychický stav klinetov. Prvá kapitola práce sa venuje ucelenej rehabilitácií klientov so zdravotným postihnutím. Definuje pojmy zdravotné postihnutie a ucelená rehabilitácia a zaoberá sa špecifikami ucelenej rehabilitácie u detí a seniorov. Druhá kapitola sa zaoberá druhmi, metódami a formami zooterapie, základnými informáciami o felinoterapií a možnosťami využitia tohoto druhu terapie v praxi. Tretiu kapitolu tvorí empirická časť práce. Prostredníctvom analýzy prípadových štúdií sú zodpovedané výskumné otázky a tým je naplnený výskumný cieľ práce. V závere kapitoly sú uvedené odporúčania do praxe.
