Nursing Process of Patient with COPD

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje ošetřovatelskému procesu u pacientky s chronickou obstrukční plicní nemocí (CHOPN). Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí, a to teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části je popsána anatomie a fyziologie dýchacího systému, na což navazuje podrobná charakteristika CHOPN. Jsou rozebrány definice onemocnění, jeho epidemiologie, příčiny vzniku, klinické projevy, rizikové faktory, exacerbace, metody diagnostiky, možnosti léčby a prognóza. Dále je popsána umělá plicní ventilace a program domácí umělé plicní ventilace. Praktická část se zaměřuje na podrobný popis kazuistiky pacientky s chronickou obstrukční plicní nemocí, hospitalizované na jednotce multioborové intenzivní péče. Ošetřovatelský proces je popsán na základě vybraných diagnóz, dokumentace pacientky a rozhovorů s pacientkou i její rodinou. Cílem bakalářské práce je popsat ošetřovatelskou péči poskytovanou pacientce s CHOPN a detailně zachytit jednotlivé kroky ošetřovatelského procesu. Na základě získaných poznatků je v závěru práce vypracováno doporučení pro praxi – pro zdravotnický personál, pacienty, rodinné příslušníky a také pro pacienty, kteří se s tímto onemocněním mohou setkat.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the nursing process in a patient with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes the anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system, followed by a detailed characterization of COPD. It discusses the definition of the disease, its epidemiology, causes, clinical manifestations, risk factors, exacerbations, diagnostic methods, treatment options, and prognosis. Furthermore, mechanical ventilation and the home mechanical ventilation program are briefly described. The practical part focuses on a detailed case study of a patient with COPD who was hospitalized in a multidisciplinary intensive care unit. The nursing process is described based on selected nursing diagnoses, patient documentation, and interviews with the patient and her family. The aim of this thesis is to describe the nursing care provided to a patient with COPD and to thoroughly document the individual steps of the nursing process. Based on the findings, recommendations for practice have been developed in the conclusion – for healthcare professionals, patients, family members, and also for other patients who may encounter this disease.
