A head-master and school culture

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vztahem ředitele školy ke kultuře školy a objasněním těchto vztahů. Teoretická část se v první kapitole zaměřuje na vysvětlení pojmu kultura školy, kde v ní se čtenář dozví, jak tento pojem vznikl, jak jej můžeme měřit a jaké je jeho postavení na dnešních českých školách. Druhá kapitola obsahuje základy managementu a na něj navazujícího školního managementu, neboť tyto přístupy úzce souvisí s určitou rovinou kultury školy. A v třetí teoretické kapitole je rozebrána role ředitele školy. Praktická část je věnována empirickému výzkumu za použití dotazníkové metody s otevřenými otázkami. Následná analýza ukazuje různé pohledy ředitelů současných českých škol na kultury školy a odkrývá vztahy mezi vedením a učiteli, učiteli a rodiči a mezi vedením a zástupci obce.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with relations of head-master towards school culture and aims to clarify these relations. In the first chapter, the theoretical part is focused on the concept of school culture. A reader is acknowledged with a history of the concept, how it can be measured, and what the situation of school culture at Czech contemporary schools is like. The second chapter contains introduction to management theory and school management because it is closely connected with a certain level of the school culture. In the third chapter, the role of a head-master is theorized. The practical part of thesis presents results of empirical research based on questionnaire method with opened questions. The analysis shows different views of head-masters of contemporary Czech schools on school culture and reveals the relations between management and teachers, teachers and parents, and school management and representatives of municipality.
