Visibility of pedestrians at night

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaobírá viditelnosti vybrané skupiny civilistů za snížené viditelnosti. Práce je rozdělená na dvě části, a to na teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části je charakterizovaná viditelnost, analýze dětského oděvu dostupného na trhu a možností měření retroreflexních materiálů v terénu. Praktická část je zaměřená na zhodnocení a porovnávaní nejvhodnějšího retroreflexního prvků na dětském oděvu novou inovovanou metodou měření pomocí vyhotovených fotografií a přístroje SpectroScanu, doplněno hodnocením pozorovatelů. Na základě výsledků je doporučeno nejvhodnější použití fluorescenčního a retroreflexního prvků na dětském oděvu, jeho umístění, množství a velikost. Bylo prokázáno, že stanovené metodiky měření umožňují objektivně vyhodnotit, zda je chodec na silnici dostatečně viditelný.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the visibility of a selected group of civilians during reduced visibility. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part is characterized visibility, the analysis of children's clothing available on the market and the method of measurement and instruments of evaluable retroreflective material in the field. Practical part is focused on evaluation and comparison of the most suitable retroreflective element used in children's clothing with new innovative method of measurement using photographs and SpectroScan, supplemented by observers. Based on the results, is recommended the best use of the fluorescent and retroreflective element for children's clothing, its location, quantity and size. It has been proved that the methodological measurements provided allow objectively to assess, if the pedestrian on the road is sufficiently visible.
