Company culture in banking area

Abstract:

The content of this bachelor work is a corporate culture in banking sector. The work is divided into four chapters. The first chapter contains the characteristics of a corporate culture as a holder of values, beliefs and attitudes of the majority of its employees. It determines what are the goals and priorities of the organization, which values it declares. I deal with four types of a corporate culture: the one of power, an executive one, a culture of position and a culture of support. The end of the first chapter focuses on trends in development of a corporate culture, which are caused by the process of globalization and a progress of information technologies and bring multicultural features into a corporate culture.Sources and components of a corporate culture are the content of the second chapter. I describe here the three types of a corporate culture: a custom, belief and society. In particular subsections I focus on a corporate culture and her impact on a behaviour of an individual, supervision, motivation of its employees, performance of a company, internal and external communication, which factors evoke a change of culture, the impact of a national and supranational culture on corporate culture. The third chapter deals with a corporate culture in a banking industry. A bank is a specific business entity, doing business with somebody else's money, therefore the application of principles of a corporate culture and also ethical code as his supporting feature; it significantly consolidates a credibility of banking system in the public gaze. At the same time I present here the influance of working environment on a corporate culture. In the closing chapture I emphasize the importance of empirical methods as a tool of increasing of professional competence and a quality of work of managers and forming of a corporate culture.

Abstract:

Obsahovou náplňou tejto bakalárske práce je firemná kultúra v bankovníctve. Je rozdelená do štyroch kapitol. Prvá kapitola obsahuje charakteristiku firemnej kultúry ako nositeľku hodnôt, presvedčení a postojov väčšiny jej zamestnancov. Určuje aké ciele a priority organizácia má, aké hodnoty vyznáva. Rozoberám štyri typy firemnej kultúry: mocenskú, výkonovú, kultúru roli a kultúru podpory. Záver kapitoly je venovaný trendom vo vývoji firemnej kultúry, ktoré sú vyvolané procesom globalizácie, i rozvojom informačných technológii a do firemnej kultúry vnášajú multykultúrne prvky. Zdroje a zložky firemnej kultúry sú obsahom druhej kapitoly. Charakterizujem tri zložky firemnej kultúry. zvyk, viera a spoločnosť. V jednotlivých podkapitolách rozoberám ako firemná kultúra ovplyvňuje správanie jednotlivca, vedenie, motiváciu jej zamestnancov, výkonnosť firmy, internú a externú komunikáciu, ktoré faktory vyvolávajú zmenu kultúry, vplyv národnej a nadnárodnej kultúry na firemnú kultúru. Firemnej kultúre v bankovníctve je venovaná tretia kapitola. Banka je špecifický podnikateľský subjekt, ktorý podniká s cudzími peniazmi, preto uplatňovanie zásad firemnej kultúry i etického kódexu ako jej podpornej zložky; obzvlášť významným spôsobom upevňuje dôveryhodnosť bankového systému v očiach verejnosti. Zároveň tu prezentujem vplyv pracovného prostredia na firemnú kultúru.V záverečnej kapitole zdôrazňujem význam empirickej metódy, ako nástroja na zvyšovanie odbornej spôsobilosti i kvality práce manažérov a formovanie firemnej kultúry.
