The thesis is focused on the analysis of the factors that contributed to the financial crisis and the measures selected central banks undertook to dampen its impact. The first chapter is devoted to theoretical basis of fiscal and monetary policy in times of crisis. Diplomová práca je zameraná na rozbor faktorov, ktoré sa podieľali na vzniku finančnej krízy a na opatrenia, ktoré vybrané centrálne banky podnikli na tlmenie jej dopadov. Prvá kapitola sa venuje teoretickým východiskám fiškálnej a monetárnej politiky v čase krízy.
