Obsahem diplomové práce je zhodnotit ryby jako významnou složku lidské výživy a současně jako bioindikátory těžkých kovů, zejména rtuti, která se v rybách nejvíce akumuluje. Dále charakterizovat těžké kovy v ekosystémech povrchových vod a popsat toxické působení rtuti a jejích následků. Důležitou součástí jsou výsledky měření rtuti v řece Dřevnici z minulých let. Abstract:
The content of this thesis is to evaluate the fish as an important component of human nutrition and also as a bioindicator of heavy metals, especially mercury, which accumulate in most fish. Furthermore, heavy metals in surface water ecosystems are analyzed, and the toxic effects of mercury and its impact on rivers are described.
