Increasing plant diversity and erosion control of deforested lands

Abstract:

Tématem této práce je ochrana ochrana holin proti erozi a popis tohoto problému se zaměřením na zvyšování rostlinné diverzity. Cílem práce je navrhnout řešení, jak rychle a efektivně založit dočasný travní porost, který na holinách podpoří přirozenou rostlinnou diverzitu. Práce popisuje diverzitu krajiny, problémy s odlesňováním a erozi. Dále se práce zaměřuje na způsoby zatravňování. Při zatravňování holin je nejdůležitější správný proces přípravy kalamitních ploch, při kterém by měly být z území odklizeny zbytky dřevin a keřů po těžbě. Odstraněné zbytky dřevin lze odvážet nebo rozdrtit a následně s nimi mulčovat území. Další důležitou částí je vhodné zvolení zatravňovací směsi s pestrým druhovým složením travních druhů, jetelovin a ostatních dvouděložných bylin. Rozmanité zatravňovací směsi zásadně podporují diverzitu na holinách. Nejvhodnějším způsobem, jak zvýšit rostlinnou diverzitu a zároveň zmírnit riziko eroze na holinách je volba vhodné zatravňovací směsi připravené přímo pro dané území. V případě vysokého rizika eroze z důvodu nadměrného svahu lze metodu zatravňování kombinovat s použitím protierozních opatřeních v podobě geosyntetik.

Abstract:

The topic of this work is the protection of clearings against erosion and the description of this problem with a focus on increasing plant diversity. The aim of this work is to propose a solution how to quickly and effectively establish a temporary grassland that will support natural plant diversity on the clearings. The work describes the diversity of the landscape, problems with deforestation and erosion. Furthermore, the work focuses on methods of grassing. When grassing clearings, the most important process is the preparation of calamitous areas, during which the remnants of woody plants and shrubs should be removed from the area after harvesting. Removed tree residues can be taken away or crushed and then mulched with them. Another important part is the appropriate choice of grass mixture with a varied species composition of grass species, clover and other dicotyledonous herbs. A variety of grass mixtures essentially support diversity on clearings. The most suitable way to increase plant diversity and at the same time reduce the risk of erosion on the clearings is to choose a suitable grass mixture prepared directly for the given area. In the case of a high risk of erosion due to excessive slope, the grassing method can be combined with the use of anti-erosion measures in the form of geosynthetics.
