Invisibility and Identity: The Black Despair of Black People in Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man
Abstract:
Ve své práci se zabývám pojetím identity a neviditelnosti v díle Ralpha Ellisona Neviditelný. Charakteristikou jednotlivých postav se mimo jiné snažím rozebrat problematiku rasové zaslepenosti a způsob, jakým hlavní hrdina získává a formuje svou identitu.
Abstract:
The intention of this thesis is to demonstrate the concept of invisibility in relation to identity in Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man. The theme of blindness in relation to the central character, as well as secondary characters, is also examined in detail and the significance of symbols discovered in the novel.
