The prognosis of the Czech labor market for year 2030 based on 2018: what will be the impact of digitization and robotization on employment?

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá vlivem implementace Průmyslu 4.0 na český trh práce. Cílem práce je prognóza vlivu digitalizace a robotizace na trh práce v České republice v horizontu nadcházejících dvanácti let a otestování hypotézy: přesuny pracovní síly mezi pracovními pozicemi budou razantní, ale pracovní síla se změnám přizpůsobí. Hypotéza o razantních přesunech byla pro rok 2030 vyvrácena. K razantním změnám bude docházet později, nejspíše v 50. letech 21. století. Tyto změny nebudou spočívat v zániku profesí, ale v proměně činností. Část z nich bude automatizována a lidé se budou moci věnovat novým segmentům. Zároveň bude docházet k přesunu zaměstnanosti z průmyslu do služeb a sociálního sektoru. Vlivem těchto změn se budou měnit požadavky na dovednosti pracovní síly a důraz bude kladen na měkké znalosti. K úspěšnému přizpůsobení pracovní síly novým požadavkům a profesím bude třeba podpora veřejného sektoru, který je bohužel dnes nedostatečně připraven. Poznatky byly verifikovány provedením expertních rozhovorů a spoluprací s Úřadem práce ČR.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis examines the impact of implementing the Industry 4.0 on Czech labor market. The main objective of the thesis is to predict the impact of digitalization and robotization on the labor market in the Czech Republic in next twelve years and to test the hypothesis: shifts in labor occupation will be significant, but labor force will adapt to the changes. The hypothesis of vigorous movements in the year 2030 was refuted. Rapid changes will occur later, probably in the 2050s. These changes will not consist in the disappearance of professions, but in the transformation of activities. Some of them will be automated and people will be able to focus on new segments. At the same time, employment will shift from industry to services and the social sector. These changes will transform the skills requirements of the workforce and the focus will be on soft skills. Successful adaptation of the workforce to new requirements and professions will require support from the public sector, which is currently insufficiently prepared. The findings of the thesis were verified by conducting expert interviews and cooperation with the Labor Office of the Czech Republic.
