Cognitive and perceptual processes of orienteering map users

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje kognitivním a percepčním procesům na příkladu užití map pro orientační běh. Rešeršní část práce předpokládá důkladnou analýzu procesu mapování, značkových klíčů a užití zmíněných map na straně jedné a analýzu současného stavu poznání zpracování prostorové informacemi v závislosti na osobnosti uživatele na straně druhé. Teoretické poznatky budou následně prakticky ověřeny. Součástí práce bude vytvoření mapy v různých variantách značkových klíčů a ověření jejich vlivu na různé skupiny uživatelů. Na základě zjištěných závěrů budou navrženy případné úpravy značkových klíčů.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with cognitive and perceptual processes using the example of the use of maps for orienteering. The search part presupposes a thorough analysis of the mapping process, map symbol systems and using these maps on the one hand and analysis of the current state of knowledge processing spatial information depending on the user's personality on the other. Theoretical knowledge will then be practically verified. The work will create a map in a variety of symbol systems and certify their impact on different groups of users. Based on the findings of the conclusions will be proposed any adjustments of map symbol systems.
