Comparison of selected chapters of medieval history in Czech and Slovak history textbooks of the 1990s

Abstract:

Předmětem bádání této bakalářské práce je komparace pojetí vybraných kapitol středověkých dějin v českých a slovenských učebnicích, které byly vydány v 90. letech 20. století. V první části se práce zabývá vymezením pojmu učebnice, jejím využitím a funkcemi, výzkumem učebnic a dějepisnou didaktikou. Dále je první část práce věnována základním informacím o nakladatelstvích, která vydala učebnice, které jsou podrobeny výzkumu ve druhé části této práce. Druhá část se zabývá změnami ve výkladu historických událostí v jednotlivých učebnicích, které byly pro tuto práci vybrány. Dále tento výklad srovnává s výkladem v učebnicích vzniklých před rokem 1989 a také s tím, který nalezneme v učebnicích současných. Práce se také věnuje přítomnosti některých historických mýtů a stereotypů v těchto kapitolách. Poslední kapitola práce je věnována výpočtu didaktické vybavenosti jednotlivých učebnic a vzájemnému srovnání výsledků těchto výpočtů. Tato práce nabízí pohled na výklad středověkých dějin v učebnicích pro základní školy na konci 20. století, jeho srovnání s pojetím předrevolučním i současným a vyhodnocení vybraných učebnic z hlediska didaktické vybavenosti.

Abstract:

The subject of this bachelor thesis is a comparison of selected chapters of medieval history in Czech and Slovak textbooks published in the 1990s. The first part of the thesis deals with the definition of the concept of a textbook, its use and functions, textbook research and history didactics. Furthermore, the first part of the thesis is devoted to basic information about the publishing houses that published the textbooks that are researched in the second part of this thesis. The second part deals with the changes in the interpretation of historical events in the different textbooks chosen for this thesis. It also compares this interpretation with that in textbooks produced before 1989 and with that contained in current textbooks. The thesis also discusses the presence of some historical myths and stereotypes in these chapters. The last chapter of the thesis is devoted to the calculation of the didactic facilities of each textbook and the comparison of the results of these calculations. This thesis offers a look at the interpretation of medieval history in textbooks for primary schools at the end of the 20th century, its comparison with the pre-revolutionary and current interpretation, and an evaluation of the selected textbooks in terms of didactic facilities.
