Comparison of 3D Graphics and Digital Photography in the Creation of Product Visualization

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na porovnání dvou způsobů tvorby produktové vizualizace – pomocí fotografie a pomocí 3D grafiky. Nejdříve chci čtenářovi poskytnout základní teoretické informace jak o fotografii, tak i o 3D grafice. Praktická část práce obsahuje popisy dvou pracovních postupů tvorby produktové vizualizace parfému, které budou následně porovnané z hlediska časové náročnosti, financí, potřebné techniky a softwaru. Obsahem práce je také analýza výstupů z pohledu koncového zákazníka prostřednictvím dotazníku a hloubkových rozhovorů. Přínosem práce je, že zkoumá problematiku produktové vizualizace komplexně, to znamená nejen v rámci samotné tvorby, ale i v rámci následného vnímání výtvorů zákazníkem. Práce v závěru shrne výsledky porovnání a analýzy, a zhodnotí oba použité způsoby.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on comparing two methods of creating a product visualization – using photography and using 3D graphics. At first, I want to provide a reader with basic background information about both digital photography and 3D graphics. The practical part contains descriptions of two perfume product visualization workflows and compares them in terms of time, finances and necessary equipment. The content of this thesis also consists of an output analysis from a customer's perspective, that was done in form of a questionnaire and interviews. The main contribution of this thesis is in a complex examination of product visualization issues. The conclusion of the work sums up the results of comparison and analysis and evaluates both methods used in the thesis.
