The use of basal stimulation in acute nursing care.

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jaká je informovanost všeobecných sester pracujících v akutní medicíně o konceptu bazální stimulace, dále pak zda-li jí zahrnují do své práce a je-li nějaký rozdíl ve využívání konceptu ve fakultní a okresní nemocnici. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 29 všeobecných sester z okresní nemocnice a 38 všeobecných sester z fakultní nemocnice, všechny sestry pracují na oddělení ARO. K získání údajů pro realizovaný výzkum jsem použila dotazníkovou metodu sběru dat. Pro dotazník jsem se rozhodla proto, protože se jedná o efektivní techniku sběru dat, která postihne velký počet jedinců při relativně malých nákladech. Umožnil mi získat informace od skupiny respondentů v krátkém čase. Dotazníky jsem rozdávala a vybírala přímo na anesteziologicko-resuscitačních odděleních. Výsledky: Šetřením bylo zjištěno, že všeobecné sestry z NsPK a FNO jsou informované o konceptu bazální stimulace a své znalosti jsou schopny aplikovat v praxi. Rozdíly však nalezneme v míře praktického využití. Všeobecné sestry z FNO pracují s pacientem podle konceptu bazální stimulace a využívají i nadstavbové druhy bazální stimulace denně. Sestry z NsPK využívají koncept bazální stimulace jen zřídka, jako hlavní důvod uvádějí časovou vytíženost. Závěr: Potěšující je, že se snaží v rámci možností využívat koncept bazální stimulace. Rozdíl je v praktickém využití i vzdělanostní struktuře jednotlivých pracovišť. Pozitivní je, že se nadále chtějí vzdělávat v konceptu bazální stimulace.

Abstract:

Objective: The aim of this work was to determine how informed general nurses working in acute medicine on the concept of basal stimulation are, and then if it is included in their work and if there is any difference in the use of the concept in the University and in a District. Hospitals (FNO and NsPK respectively). Methodology: Research set was made up of 29 general nurses from the district hospital and 38 general nurses from the faculty hospital. All nurses work in the department of ARO (Department of Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation). To obtain the data for the research realized I used the questionnaire method of data collection. I decided for the questionnaire because it is an effective technique for data collecting, which affects a large number of individuals at relatively small cost. It has enabled me to obtain information from a group of respondents in a short time. I distributed questionnaires and collected them directly on the Department of Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation (November ? December 2008). Results: The investigation showed that general nurses from NsPK and FNO are aware of the concept of basal stimulation and they are able to apply their knowledge in practice. However, there are differences in the extent of practical use. General nurses from FNO work with the patient under the concept of basal stimulation and they even use other, super structural, types of basal stimulation daily. Nurses from NsPK use the concept of basal stimulation rarely, due to shortage of time, as the main reason stated in the questionnaire. Conclusion: It is pleasant that they try, if possible, to use the concept of basal stimulation. The difference is in the practical use and the educational structure of individual departments. The good news is that they want to continue to learn the concept of basal stimulation.
