Occupational Therapy in Spinal Muscular Atrophy

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou pacientů, kteří trpí onemocněním zvaným Spinální svalová atrofie, a to z pohledu ergoterapeuta, který o klienta pečuje. Cílem práce je poukázat na problematiku spinální svalové atrofie a na možnosti ergoterapeutické intervence u tohoto onemocnění. Případová studie je vytvořena pomocí kvalitativního výzkumu. Bylo zde provedeno vstupní ergoterapeutické vyšetření, ve kterém bylo využito strukturované pozorování, semistrukturovaný rozhovor, analýza zdravotní dokumentace a ergoterapeutické hodnocení, které se skládalo z měření a testování. Ve výsledcích byl proveden souhrn a porovnání ergoterapeutické intervence kazuistiky na základě vstupního a výstupního vyšetření. V praktické části byly využity ergoterapeutické metody, díky kterým došlo k mírnému zlepšení zdravotního stavu klientky.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of patients who suffer from a disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy, and that from the perspective of an occupational therapist that cares for the client. The aim of the thesis is to point out the problem of spinal muscular atrophy and the possibilities of ergotherapeutic intervention in this disease. The case study is created using qualitative research. An initial occupational therapy examination was carried out, in which structured observation, semistructured interview, analysis of health documentation and occupational therapy assessment, which consisted of measurements and testing, were used. In the results, a summary and comparison of occupational therapy intervention case studies based on initial and final examination.In the practical part, occupational therapy methods were used, thanks to which there was a slight improvement in the client's state of health.
