Golden Down: Profile of Extreme Right Party in Greece

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce „Zlatý úsvit: profil krajně pravicové strany v Řecku“ se, jak již název napovídá, věnuje fenoménu Zlatého úsvitu v řecké politice. Na základě Muddeho teorie krajně pravicové stranické rodiny autorka analyzuje oficiální dokumenty strany a zprávy z médií, s jejichž pomocí se snaží zodpovědět otázku, zda strana Zlatý úsvit prvky Muddeho konceptu naplňuje a je tedy možné ji označit za krajně pravicovou. Zároveň se autorka snaží využitím teoretických konceptů dalších autorů (především M. Minkenberga) definovat pozici strany Zlatý úsvit v rámci pravicové ideologické rodiny.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis „Golden Dawn: the profile of right-wing party in Greece“ deals, as the name suggests, with the phenomenon of Golden Dawn in Greek politics. The theoretical framework is based on the theory of the far-right party families created by Cas Mudde. The author analyzes the official documents and reports and tries to answer the question, if Golden Dawn accomplishes the elements of Mudde’s concept and if it can be described as a far-right party. The author works with theoretical concepts of other authors (primarily with Minkenberg’s one) to define the Golden Dawn’s position in the extreme right party family.
