Abstract:
In my thesis I focus on Virginia Woolf’s character Orlando and his/her immortality, which in this thesis is understood as a result of Orlando’s qualities that Friedrich Nietzsche in his Thus Spoke Zarathustra ascribes to the new stage of a human - ‘an overman.’ These overmanly qualities are discussed in five chapters, first of which explains the key thought that an overman is also a god and that to …more
