Use of Assessment and Development Centres in Corporate Practice

Abstract:

Předmětem této bakalářské práce je popsání metody výběru zaměstnanců využitím assessment centra a metody rozvoje zaměstnanců pomocí development centra. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí, části teoretické a praktické. První část předkládá ucelený teoretický přehled o problematice assessment a development center. Vymezuje jednotlivé pojmy, seznamuje s metodami, popisuje jednotlivé fáze. Závěr je věnován validitě, výhodám/nevýhodám, celkovému zhodnocení těchto metod i aktuálním trendům. Praktická část je zaměřena na realizované assessment centrum v konkrétní společnosti z pohledu dodavatele řešení. Je orientována na design AC dle zadání, průběh realizace, jednotlivé techniky a výstupy. Záměrem práce je zhodnotit efektivitu metody assessment centra a navrhnout opatření, která pomohou při získávání nejvhodnějších kandidátů z pracovního trhu. V práci je krátce zmíněno také development centrum z pohledu účastníka.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to describe the employee selection methods using the Assessment Center method and also evaluate employee development accomplished by the Development center method. This thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The first part presents a comprehensive overview of theoretical matters linked to the Assessment and Development centers. It defines various concepts, introduces the methods, and describes each phase. The conclusion is devoted to the validity, advantages/disadvantages, the overall evaluation of these methods and current trends. The practical part is focused on the Assessment Center implemented in a particular society from the perspective of vendor solutions. It focuses on the Assessment Centre design according to the specification, execution, individual techniques and outputs. The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness the Assessment Center methods and propose measures that will help in getting the right candidates from the labor market. The paper also briefly describes Development Centers from the perspective of the participant.
